Did I just get charged a dollar for applying at Elpha Engineering Acceleration? While they said I wouldnt be charged?

Hi, but this was terrifying!

I just recieved a mail saying from Elpha over engineering acceleration program. While it was nicely mentioned in the mail that this was just an application, I was taken under questions when I saw the card information asked. Yet, I trusted the elpha team and the message written that nothing would be charged.

But then, the moment I submitted, $1 was debited! soon another $1 got debited and I was forced to block my card!

I request the team to monitor and help me get my $2 back, as I am presently jobless and every penny counts!

Hi @swathipai, I've flagged this to our dev team. We're looking into it immediately and will get back to you.Sorry about the inconvenience.
Hi @swathipai – sorry for the confusion here! We aren't charging the credit card on file until an application is accepted and you're placed in the program. I triple checked and we haven't charged your credit card (or anyone else's).Can you send me a screenshot of the debits you're seeing from Elpha? [email protected] is my email. Thanks!
Hey @cadran I have mailed you the details with screenshot. Thank you for replying and noticing this post. I really hope my issue gets solved..
Oof, I didn't even see that price tag for membership and they're debiting money to validate cards? Glad I didn't apply.
Hello! We are not debiting money from anyone's accounts. The pricing is included in the FAQ and we put your card on file as part of the application. Your credit card is charged once you're part of the program. We actually haven't even written the code to charge credit cards yet. Hope that helps!
So the issue is resolved. While we don't know where the money went, Cadran was kind to refund me the amount. Thank you Elpha team for helping me with this issue. :)
